PEDRA FURADA (bored stone) PONDS HORSE RIDE SEA - HORSE |
| > P E D R A F U R A D A (bored stone) < |
Pedra Furada (bored stone) in the east side of Jericoacoara is one of its symbols. You can reach it taking a 30 minute-walk or a horse-ride along the beach, and on your way you can also visit “Pedra do Frade” (friar stone). If you choose to walk along the beach, you should pay attention to the tide flow, for when it is flood tide you take a longer time to arrive at your destination, although it is also more beautiful. “Pedra Furada” can be included in any tour, the tour guides and buggy drivers will take you there whenever you want to go. |

It takes almost 2 hours to go on a tour to Lagoa do Paraíso (Paraíso pond) and Lagoa Azul (Blue pond), plus the time we want to stay there. Blue Lagoon is a rustic place full of natural beauties and transparent waters. On the other hand, Paraíso ponds has a good tourism infrastructure including dining, nautical sports, boat and jangada rides; it is a special spot to spend the whole day! The tour prices vary according to the itinerary and the amount of time spent on it.
Tatajuba can also be included in the ponds tours; there you can enjoy beautiful sceneries as can be seen in the photo on the left side. Funnel Sand Dune is on the way to “New Tatajuba”, a village that has been buried by sand and rebuilt on another site.
“The Buggy Driver Association” coordinates and supervises the work developed by the buggy drivers to guarantee a top-quality service to visitors. The Association located right downtown Jericoacoara, on the Main Street at the "buggy driver square", is ready to inform and give assistance on tours and helps toy whenever you need it.
In the photo on the right, we can see Da. Maria tent, where you have to stop by if you wish to know further “details” on the events leading to the old village burial and to its rebuilding on the new site. |

If you prefer, you can take all tours, or even move about aimlessly, riding horseback just enjoying your time while you are guided by the beautiful sceneries. The “Horsemen Association” in Jericoacoara can help you if you need to rent a horse or assistance concerning horses. They charge per hour-fees and provide guides and transportation, if needed. |

The "Sea-horse" tour, which can be included in other tours, is a 2 to 3 hour visit to Guriú river mouth, going through sand dunes and beach trails, rafts and mangroves. An unforgettable experience to be remembered for ever! |
